CAD independent
After many years working in the industry we're learned a good bit. One of the most startling and product changing discoveries was that not only were no two product development departments within the flooring industry the same, they're rarely even close. They're radically different in their creative process, the tools used and the way information about the products are stored. There are CAD systems from the Netherlands, Austrailia, Belgium, England and Chattanooga (along with a good number who don't use CAD systems at all).

When we initially built our FloorSim toolset, we intended to work off the CAD system process. Since that process doesn't always exist we've allowed our tools to sit apart from them. So now we can augment CAD's capabilities or work independant of them entirely.

Many people see FloorSim competing with the CAD software market but the truth is we encourage its success. With the rapid and drastic changes the flooring industry has made over the last ten years there's a fundamental need for organization, streamlined design and manufacturing cost forecasting. Most of the advances we've seen among the major CAD providers address these needs well and can be an asset to the companies that take advantage of their features.
